I have two boys who are six years apart in age and with both of them I wanted to read and get them engaged in books from a very young age. My solution was to create a book about a young boy (my youngest son was the inspiration for the character) and try to put it into a format and with language that would capture their attention.

The goal was to create a book that was light, funny and fun and would hopefully amuse and engage both the young reader and the older person reading along with them. That idea became The Boy Who Wouldn’t Sit Still!

I think Mike McQueen is offering a tremendous service with this website – one that is very much needed. Reading is such an important building block for later learning and getting active boys to slow down a bit is difficult enough so the goal of this book is to have a book that perhaps can make an active little boy slow down a bit and engage in the reading process.

Please check out my book at and thank you Mike McQueen for creating a fantastic website. I will be a regular reader.
